In orbit, de Flaviu Rogojan

A morte de um robô faz com que ele, de alguma forma, pareça mais “humano” para nós? Baseado na história real de uma sonda espacial com a qual a NASA perdeu contato em 2013, este projeto combina factos científicos e ficção especulativa para imaginar a existência atual da sonda e a vida recém-descoberta em órbita.

Flaviu Rogojan é um artista multidisciplinar e curador baseado em Cluj, Roménia. Ele explora a natureza complexa e interligada de nossas vidas online e offline através de seu trabalho, inspirando-se em influências da ciência, tecnologia, vídeo-jogos e cultura da Internet.

A história reúne temas como a história colonial da medição do tempo, a história das descobertas de cometas, as biografias do astrónomo amador Ernst Tempel e do artista surrealista Max Ernst, e o destino das sondas espaciais.

Does a robot’ s death make it, somehow, feel more “human” to us? Based on the real-life story of a space probe NASA lost contact with in 2013, Flaviu Rogojan’ s project blends scientific fact and speculative fiction to imagine the probe’ s current existence and newfound life in orbit.

Flaviu Rogojan, based in Cluj, Romania, is a multi-disciplinary artist and curator. He explores the complex and intertwined nature of our online and offline lives through his work, drawing on influences from science, technology, video games, and Internet culture. In his practice, he merges obscure information and geeky tales with conceptual art techniques to craft fictions and commentaries on current political issues.

The story brings together topics such as the colonial history of timekeeping, the history of comet discoveries, the biographies of amateur astronomer Ernst Tempel and surrealist artist Max Ernst, and the fate of space probes.
